Learn Makeup wedding – Learn Makeup
I RARELY wear makeup-where’s a good place to learn how to apply it?
I’m 24 and have never worn makeup regularly. I’m about to get a nice professional job, however, where I’ll need to wear at least a little bit so that I can look polished and clean instead of a freckly flower-child. However, I’ve never been very good at putting on makeup, and I don’t want my mom to show me how–because quite frankly, her makeup scares me. Does anyone know some good sites/places/tips for me to learn makeup application? I’m really inept at this sort of thing. Hairstyles are good, too, as I’ve always just worn my hair down or in a ponytail. Thanks!
If you rarely wear make-up and just want to look professional, I would start with minimal. Try some mascara, eyeshadow, and lipstick.
Mascara – You don’t have to have the “Ultra X-tend Multilash” kinds of brands, just simple black or brown (depending on your natural hair color. Light blondes should wear brown usually.) Hold the wand right in front of your eye and blink. Keep doing this until you see all your lashes are covered. Try to blink as little as possible for a few minutes after you apply to allow it time to dry.
Eyeshadow – Just a little color on your lids is good. There are plenty of eyeshadow “gift sets” with half a million colors. Get a cheap one of these if you wear lots of different colors. If you primarily wear one color (like for me, green), find a little set of shades with that color. I would reccommend also finding a brown set with brown and a skin color. Eyeshadow’s not too hard, just wipe it onto your lids. I would suggest putting it on before your mascara, though. Makes it easier.
Lipstick – Oh, this is fun…. It would be best to go to a department store with the make-up stands and asking the worker to reccommend a shade. It’s so hard to find just the right one, so be prepared to look. Once you know about what color to look for, go ahead and buy it at the drug store. Just Maybelline or such will do fine. You don’t have to have the expesive brand. Lipstick is definately the easiest to apply. :) I’d suggest keeping it in your purse through the day, too.
Hope this helps!

Website to find makeup images?
I want to find a bunch of images of CLOSEUPS of makeup looks. I tried Google Images but they weren’t all closeup. Any website suggestions where I can just see closeups of eye makeup looks and such?
Try Make Up Alley. They have message boards with a “Face of the Day” (or FOTD) section where people post close-ups of their makeup everyday. I’m not sure if you have to be a member of the website, though. But it’s free! I joined a few months ago and I love it! It’s perfect if you love makeup and looking for new looks to try out (:

the secret to flawless skin
i meet so many brides who ask me how they can get a flawless complexion in time for their big day.
our skin reflects all that is happening in our minds and bodies – so if you have some pre-wedding nerves you may notice yourself breaking out in a few pimples.
the best way to deal with wedding nerves is to give yourself time-out from all the preparations. this means taking time to relax and ‘switch off’. you’ve probably been organising your big day for at least a year and you may have started to feel a bit tired and emotional!
ask your partner to get involved a little and get your bridesmaids to organise a few things – this all helps to take the pressure off you.
find time to go to a yoga class, try some meditation or simply go for a stroll. why not treat yourself & your mum to a pamper day at your local beauty salon – it’s a great way to relax and also gives you some mother-and-daughter quality time! all of these things will give you a chance to energise and give your mind a break.
on a physical level, try to avoid coffee and alcohol, replacing them with fruit smoothies, iced water or camomile tea.
cleanse your skin with a good exfoliating scrub – this literally sloughs away dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smooth and vibrant. Use a good moisturiser – it doesn’t need to be an expensive one.
use a 30+ sun block when out in the sun – especially on your nose and shoulders, there’s nothing worse that red noses or strap marks on your wedding day!
consider having a spray-tan instead of going to a solarium, spray tans have improved immensely in the last few years and won’t mark your dress.
these steps will all help to improve your complexion and allow your make-up to enhance your natural beauty. good luck!

Makeup Pictures for black women – Makeup Pictures
Is it more difficult for black women to get a proper “brazilian” wax than other women?
There are many good looking Afro-Brazilian and Dominican women. But something I see among African-American and other more “pure” African women is that many have thick hair around the anus and vagina. Now if you don’t believe me, you can look at some playboy or pornstar photos, obviously these are trashy women, but why would black women who have their physical appearance perfect (perfect makeup, skin, hairdo, nails-toned body etc.) have hair growing on their anus? I know that it’s natural for men and women to grow hair there, but almost all nude pictures have this shaven, waxed or edited out. Why is this much less common amongst African-American and pure black women?
Is the texture of the hair so coarse that it leads to infection or bumps if the women wax it off? I think of when I was in Japan and two African-American women were applying for their drivers licenses. They were chatting and 1 had a denim skirt on and said she was married to a Marine stationed in Japan. She had HAIRY legs, really hairy. The woman in shorts also had hairy legs, but not nearly as bad.
I know women skip shaving, but the one with the really hairy legs must have felt it was totally normal because she was a good looking woman in a short skirt. Wth?
I’ve seen that a few other times with American black women (not the feminist types) and I’ve seen it more often with them than regular American white women or hispanic and asian women their age.
I’m not talking about slobby, unkempt or really old black women, these are otherwise very young and fit black women.
So is it a cultural thing or is it a matter of hair texture? I know I’m not dreaming this up because I’ve asked this question of black male colleagues and they have said they noticed the same thing.
I’m really sorry to all the black women who get mad at this, I know you take enough flack as it is. Just wondering from a non-black man.
@PK actually I have had myself waxed because I was a swimmer in college and the military. It doesn’t hurt that much.
Like I said, I’ve checked hundreds of photoes before this and see a pattern. I talked about my personal observations and then asked African American men that I work with. They agreed.
I have no clue how to answer your question.
Speaking as a Black woman I don’t have a hairy anus or anything like that. Maybe the women you saw just don’t like shaving??
The hair I have down there isn’t thick and isn’t coarse, I don’t think people have different textures of hair down there it’s all the same. It’s isn’t the same type of hair that grows on your head. Same with arm hair lol.
I think you need to actually be with some African American women before you generalize them. If I was dating you, you wouldn’t see any of the stuff you are describing and I can promise that.
I don’t think it’s a cultural thing I don’t know any cultural traditions where we have certain things to with our body hair.
There isn’t anything difficult about getting a Brazilian wax, no special procedure when it comes to Black women, you get it waxed and your done.

Help! Calling all makeup gurus!!!! Please answer ASAP!!!!?
Okay, so I’m a bit new in makeup and I just got this makeup kit from my birthday:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hard-Candy-Mini-Face-Kit-Glam/15601968
which includes:
face primer
lip gloss
blush
highlighter-pink (i think it is a highlighter, what is it?)
And I have no idea how to apply the makeup.Like, can you guys give me a full makeup tutorial on using just these products. Also, can you tell me what brushes I need to use. I know I’m asking too much. But please help me as much as you can!! Thank you!!!
Hey girl,
Using a makeup primer is the best way to make your makeup stay put all day. Their aim is to prepare the skin for the makeup application, they pamper the skin and create a protective base for longer- lasting, natural looking foundation application and wear. The primers give the makeup something to grab onto and help your makeup last longer, because the makeup primers create a smooth and perfect surface.
To apply your primer, get a small amount on your fingers and then dab it onto each section of your face. But a dot on your nose, your cheeks, your forehead, and your chin. Then blend it in using your fingers.
The blush is meant to give you a natural flush of color. When applying the blush, brush upward toward the temple starting at the apple of the cheek. Many people form their lips into a kissing shape to tell where to apply. If doing this, apply on the cheek bones upward toward the temple. Use a small, domed-shaped blush if you have one.
The highlighter will make your cheekbones look great. Using your powder brush, lightly apply it to the area just above your cheekbones to enhance them and make them appear more prominent. The key is to apply highlighter with a light touch so that it doesn’t look harsh or obvious. Practice until you can apply it without leaving an obvious line of demarcation. Do you have a wide nose? Apply highlighter down the center of your nose and a darker shade of makeup subtly along the edges. If you have a weak chin, apply highlighter lightly to the tip of your chin to visually bring it forward, causing it to appear more prominent. If you don’t have a brush, feel free to apply with your fingers.
To apply your lipgloss, put a little bit on the bottom and top lips, then rub them together for even application.
Hope I helped and I’m sure you’ll look great! (:
